Vaginoplasty
This procedure focuses on lessening the width of the vagina. Over time, the tissues of the vagina can lose elasticity, particularly following multiple childbirths. This permanent stretching can sometimes affect a woman’s enjoyment and comfort during sex. During a vaginoplasty, Dr. Ivanov may tighten the perineal muscles or repair the rear vaginal wall, reducing the overall width of the vagina and increasing tightness.
Perineoplasty
The area of tissue between the vagina and the rectum is called the perineum. Childbirth can cause tearing and scarring of this tissue. Often times, the healing process of these tears leads to uneven scarring and disfiguration of the perineum, resulting in vaginal looseness. During this surgery, Dr.Ivanov repairs the damage and restores the tissue in order to return the area to its pre-pregnancy condition. The procedure also rebuilds and constricts muscles, tightening the vagina.
Labiaplasty
The labiaplasty procedure involves reconstruction of the labia minora
and/or the labia majora. During reconstruction of the labia minora, Dr. Ivanov reconstructs the size and shape of the labia, or the folds of skin that frame the opening of the vagina. Many women seek this procedure because they have a natural excess of skin, causing discomfort when wearing tight-fitting clothing or making sex and intimacy difficult. In turn, this procedure may remove excess skin from both sides of the labia to reduce overall size, or from only one side to correct an irregularity. As a result of aging, bariatric surgery, or loss of volume, the labia majora may droop. Sometimes the labia majora may appear more prominent in volume due to fat deposits. During reconstruction of labia majora, Dr. Ivanov removes excess labia majora skin and prominent fat pads, improving the appearance of the vulvar area. Clitoral hood reduction
This procedure serves to reduce the size of the clitoral hood to reveal more of the clitoris itself. The goal is to increase sexual pleasure and restore the aesthetic appearance of the vulva, increasing a woman’s overall confidence and pleasure.
Hymenoplasty
Hymenoplasty is the surgical repair of the hymen, a membrane that partially closes the opening of the vagina. In many cultures and religions, an intact hymen traditionally indicates a mark of virginity. Due to reasons other than intercourse, such as vigorous exercise or tampon insertion, the hymen becomes torn or ruptured. Under such circumstances, many women seek hymen reconstruction.
